În
concluzie, dislipidemia joacă un dublu rol în cadrul apneei de somn, uneori
intricat. Pe de o parte, de favorizare a obezității, conducând în anumite cazuri
la dezvoltarea apneei de somn, iar pe de altă parte, de creștere a riscului de
morbiditate cardiovasculară, ca o consecință a apneei de somn. Având în vedere
consecințele pe termen lung ale AOS (obezitate, boli cardiovasculare, diabet,
AVC, anxietate, depresie, tulburări cognitive, afectarea calității vieții,
creșterea mortalității și morbidității) (43), dislipidemia este un factor
potențial reversibil care trebuie identificat și corectat terapeutic la această
categorie de pacienți.
